Update

Value of the (Almost Over) Month - Individual Worth
Elder Russel M. Nelson shared this thought in General Conference, October 1989
[A young woman's] self-esteem cannot be based on physical features, possession or lack of a particular talent, or comparative quantities of anything. Her self-esteem is earned by individual righteousness and a close relationship with God. Her outward glow is generated by goodness within. And her patience is much more apparent than any imperfection.
If you haven't already, get out your personal progress books and learn about how important you are to your Heavenly Father!

This Week:
Tuesday, September 27th: Combined YM/YW Movie Night - 6:30 - "Baptists at our Barbecue"

Thursday, September 29th: Baptisms for the dead - meet at the church at 6:00 am
*If you decide to go and were not counted on Sunday, please talk to Sis. Anderson by 6:00 pm
Wednesday night

Saturday, October 1st - Sunday, October 2nd - General Conference
- Tune in and be spiritually fed by the prophets of the Lord.

Have a great week! Please let us know if you need anything - no matter how big or small.

Sunrise Personal Progress Devotional

This was our view when we first arrived in the foothills overlooking the city on Tuesday morning.  Autumn was in the air that morning - the air was brisk!
The sun shining on all of your faces!  After some moving devotionals from the leaders on individual worth, divine nature, integrity and virtue, Sister Anderson presented a recommitment incentive for personal progress:  for each month between August and June, we commit to completing *2* personal progress experiences.  For those of you who have received your YW award or are really close, you will need to work on your honor bee award.

As evidence of our recommitment, we all signed our Banner and agreed to complete 2 experiences per month.  This winter, for those who have made it roughly halfway in the challenge, we will have a sleepover/party.  For those who endure to the end, we will take an overnight trip to Utah in June and see the Manti Pageant!  This will be amazing, but only those who make it through the entire challenge will get to go. Please let us know if you have any questions or if there is any way that we can help you along in this recommitment!

Paige on the news!

If you missed it, Paige was interviewed and featured on the 10:00 news on channel 6 on Tuesday night. ...I'm just a little disappointed she didn't mention anything about her awesome Young Women's leaders or friends... but such is the life of a celebrity. ;o)

***MUSIC ASSIGNMENTS***

The music assignments have been updated and are currently visible in the sidebar through September. If you have any questions, please ask me.

Please remember that accompanying our opening hymn is not to show off your piano skills, but to give you an opportunity to share and develop your talents. (Same with conducting the hymns.) Doing so also completes
Personal Progress value number 2 or number 6 for Knowledge. Please be mindful of this responsibility - we are relying on you to help make our Opening Exercises run smoothly. If you will not be at church when you are assigned to play, please let me know.

If you need any help learning your hymn, please ask me!

Disc Golfing

Tuesday night the Mia Maids/Beehives went to McCowin Park to play some disc golf with Brother Busath. Things started out a little rough, but everyone improved significantly and no discs were lost in the trees! And besides a few minor Frisbee hit-and-runs, nobody was hurt either - so it was a success!

Immediately post-throw:

Fourth of July

If you missed the Idaho Falls 4th of July parade - here are the highlights! See if you can spot Mykette (flute) in the first picture, and Chelsa (sax) in the second picture - they marched with the Hillcrest Band.

Amanda fulfilling her Student Council responsibilities and lookin' HOT!
Great job girls!

Kaia! Come home!!

For those of you who haven't heard, Kaia has decided to stay in Arizona until the end of the month to train. I say we start a petition to get her to come home!

Kaia - if you're reading this - we miss you! Get lots of good training in! See you in a few weeks!

(Stay tuned for posts/pictures from the 4th of July Parade, Mia Maids/Beehives disc golfing and night swimming!)
